Trying

I hate that most of my blogs have started with trying to explain that it has been a month since my last post.

Jake and I have been busy doing nothing. My temp job came to an end. I was accepted to the dislocated worker program, had my first interview yesterday. I have class to go to the last week of Oct. Jake is doing much better in therapy than his therapist expected. Hopefully that will mean he can go back to work sooner than the doctors say.
This is Jake's knee 3 days after surgery.

I have been completely released by my doctor to return to my normal roller derby activities, with no restrictions.

An update on the Extreme Home Make Over, the show I helped out on will air on Nov 11th.

That is all I really have for now.

Be Extreme

Well, for those of you who don't know, Extreme Home Makeover is in Northwest Illinois. They surprised a local family on 09/09/09 and the demolition and build got on the way while the family was whisked away.

Our friend Bret and his son Josh were called in as contractors to help build the roof. I was lucky enough to get a spot on the volunteer roster and will be working from 12am to 8 am Tuesday 9/15. I doubt I will see any air time, but this is a once in a lifetime event that I am proud to be apart of. As soon as I know the air date I will update you.
